When you use Discotiq, we collect the following information:

• Account information: email address, username, and password (stored securely using bcrypt hashing — we never store your plain-text password).
• Avatar preferences: your chosen avatar background, accessory, finish, and color settings.
• Music collection data: records, albums, and collections you add within the app.
• Push notification tokens: device tokens used solely to deliver push notifications you have opted into.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and maintain the Discotiq service.
• Authenticate your account and keep it secure.
• Send push notifications you have opted into (e.g., price alerts).
• Search for music metadata via the Discogs API on your behalf.

3. Third-Party Services

Discotiq uses the Discogs API to search for music and retrieve album information. When you perform a search, your query is sent to Discogs. Please refer to the Discogs Privacy Policy for details on how they handle data.

We do not use any analytics services, advertising networks, or other third-party tracking tools. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third parties.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers. Passwords are hashed using industry-standard bcrypt encryption. We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

5. Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from the Settings screen within the app. When you delete your account, all of your data — including your profile, collections, and notifications — is permanently removed from our servers.

6. Children's Privacy

Discotiq is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
